What to Do When Pregnant

If you have just peeked at the pregnancy test and seen the sign saying you are pregnant, take a moment to freak out. (Insert freak-out here) Now that you have freaked out, take a moment to worry about all the things that you have to deal with in the future, such as childbirth, stretch marks, cord banking, college education, and grandkids. (Insert worries here) Now that all that has passed, time to calm down and think about some of the things that you need to do now that you are pregnant.

  • DO take the time to schedule a visit to your doctor to be certain that you actually are pregnant. Rather than depending on a $5 pregnancy test, you may want to get a real pregnancy test just to be sure. After all, the freaking out has to be for something that is real.
  • DO spend some time learning as much as you can about childbirth, pregnancy, and all the other things that will come as a surprise to you the first time around. If you are an experienced mother of more than one child, this pregnancy should come as no shock. However, if this is your first child, there are many things that you will need to be prepared for. There are thousands of books on preparing for pregnancy, and you would do well to spend a bit of time learning as much as possible about everything that you will experience and undergo through during the length of your pregnancy.
  • DO set and appointment with your GP. Now that you are actually pregnant, you are going to need to know how to take care of yourself, where to have the child, and a host of other medical things related to pregnancy and giving birth. Visiting your GP will ensure that you can learn as much as possible about what to expect, as well as how to prepare for the big moment when you will give birth.
  • DO tell all of your friends and family the good news that you are going to have a child. Don’t expect them all to have the same reaction, especially if you are still in high school. Planned pregnancies will always be received well by your family, and you will find that most of them will be happy for you. There is no special time to tell people, but you should at least wait until you are certain that it is a child before letting everyone know.
  • DO have a party to celebrate the fact that you are pregnant. If you planned the pregnancy, celebrate the fact that your dreams are finally coming true. If the pregnancy is unplanned, celebrate the fact that you are able to bring a new life into the world. Celebrating your pregnancy can help you to put a positive spin on something that may not always seem like the happiest news in the world, as everyone loves a good party to take their mind off things.
  • DO find people to help you and give you advice on your pregnancy. Your mother may be a source of wisdom on how to deal with the ups and downs of pregnancy, and you may find that some of your friends and family will be able to give you advice on how to deal with your pregnancy. There are many things that are going to be completely new for you, and having a support system in place can make it a lot easier for you to take care of yourself.
  • DO start eating and exercising properly, as well as living right. The food you eat will play a large role in the health of your child, and you should find the foods that will be the best for the growing life in your womb. Doing exercise will help to avoid a number of pregnancy problems, and can even make the childbirth easier. Quit smoking and drinking, and stop taking recreational drugs if you currently do so. Your body is no longer your own, and you have to treat your body as a temple in order to be certain that your child is born free of birth defects.

In the end, being pregnant is one of the best things that can happen to you, and you should have fun with it. Being pregnant doesn’t have to mean that you suffer, but can be a lot of fun if you go about it the right way and see it through a positive outlook.

visit your doctor

You should visit your doctor and consult with him about your condition. He would give you all the suggestions regarding the kind of diet you should follow, how frequently you should do your check ups. Do not forget to take rest and most importantly do not smoke and drink alcohol during this phase. I was looking for information on Retin A Cream when I saw your post.

Take advice from people

Take advice from people. But before you apply them just ask your doctor. If he says it is okay to follow a certain advice then go for it. Follow blogs and magazines on pregnancy. Blogs are useful resources. I was recently going through a health blog where I found useful information on best candida treatment.
